Notan is a Japanese design concept that centers around the placement of light and dark elements as they are placed next to each other. No part gets left out, everything goes on the piece of media. For my paper notan I did the Bakunawa, and for my digital notan I did the Bakunawa, the Minokawa, and a butanding. The Bakunawa is a sea deity in Filipino mythology that eats moons and the Minokawa is similar except it is a big bird that eats the sun. I did it wrong and reflected it instead of coming out from the side on the paper notan, and I did the Bakunawa too big on the digital notan.
