Passion Project

Step 1: Define the Idea

For my Passion Project I decided to make my own OCs and their concepts. I chose this because I like drawing my own characters and thinking about how they interact. It's more of a concept book about them with different incarnations and things like that, but everything is subject to change.

This is an incarnation of a character called The Ringmaster.

Step 2: Collect Information

The concept artbook has been done before obviously, but I was inspired by Splatoon artbooks. For my "artbook" I'd need my sketchbook and some different forms of mediums like pencil and colors.

Step 3: Brainstorm and Analyze Data

Compared to the Splatoon concept/artbooks, my artbook will be more relaxed with different OCs and fanarts of different characters, and it's only for myself in my sketchbook.

Step 4+5: Build a Model/Draft

I've already started doing "concept" art and I like it so far. The characters above are OCs from Splatoon. I just drew and colored each character with some key elements in their designs. I've also written down some keywords related to their character. It only makes sense to me but that's the point, it's for myself. These are still subject to change but I like their designs so far.

Feedback from Brandon: I really like the competent use of color to convey how the characters personality will be. The color schemes match well with the characters builds and styles

Step 6: Improve Idea

I didn't change anything about my sketchbook

Step 7: Product

I have my drawings that I've done throughout the school year.
